Supplement a possible magnesium deficiency by absorption through the skin. Suitable for dogs but can also be used on yourself.

Fortunately, more and more people are aware that in this day and age, the supply of sufficient magnesium plays an essential role in the body. For example, it is an indispensable co-factor in over 300 enzymatic reactions.

It has long been known among top athletes that magnesium increases performance and endurance, among other things by delivering oxygen to the muscles and the brain. Magnesium is essential for bone formation and proper functioning of the nerve pathways.

It promotes strength, endurance and (very importantly) provides deep muscle relaxation allowing for full recovery of the muscle tissues.

Dogs or cats that are fed a good, versatile diet should in principle get enough magnesium, that is, if the absorption processes in the stomach and intestines are also going well. Unfortunately, it is the case that good absorption sometimes leaves something to be desired. In addition, it is now also known that the magnesium content in food has decreased significantly in recent decades. Due to intensive food production, soil health is severely disrupted and less and less magnesium ends up in the food.

Add magnesium

Magnesium can also be administered as a dietary supplement, but the quality of this, and therefore the absorption, varies considerably so you need to add more to get results. However, a high oral intake of magnesium disrupts the stomach and intestinal processes, so it is also used as a laxative.

Transdermal application (through the skin) of pure magnesium chloride oil is therefore a better method.

This simply means:

  • Body's own form of magnesium
  • No unnecessary strain on the digestive tract
  • No messing around with supplements in the food

Signs of magnesium deficiency

  • The animal does not respond positively to physiotherapy treatments for a long time, sometimes for a few days and then again not.
  • Oversensitive to stimuli, an anxious or restless appearance
  • Having trouble relaxing
  • Nervous twitches
  • Tense body
  • Sensitive back
  • Irritated
  • Itching and eczema
  • Difficulty focusing
  • Hypersensitive to light and sound
  • Irregular heartbeat

In the long term, a magnesium deficiency causes:

  • Muscle loss
  • Bad veins
  • Digestive problems

Some animals do not have a clearly visible imbalance, while it may be present. Other animals do show clear signals.

Applying magnesium oil should produce clear positive differences within a few weeks.

Use it yourself

This oil is so pure that you can also apply it to yourself and experience what it does to your body and mind. This also allows you to better perceive the, sometimes subtle, positive differences that your pet shows and makes you feel. Can also be used as a very effective deodorant!

Treatment

Transdermal application of this oil is the safest method of supplementing with magnesium, over or underdosing is virtually impossible.

The application is simple, spray over the coat and massage in. In case of muscle tension, a more generous dose can be applied locally.

Sometimes the extra stimulation that the oil gives to the skin of animals that are already oversensitive, for example due to a magnesium deficiency, can still be too much and cause stress. Then start with a diluted oil (1 to 1) and rinse it off with clean water after about 10 minutes of soaking. If you cannot rinse an animal, use a higher dilution, for example 1 to 2 or 1 to 3. This (over)sensitivity usually disappears after a few treatments so that you can simply use the oil pure.

For most animals this will not be necessary and the oil can simply remain in the skin fat without causing a burden. On the contrary, magnesium can still be absorbed through the skin throughout the day.

Active animals can be treated daily, less active animals 1 to several times a week, depending on their needs.

In animals that are quite thick in the coat, the thinly haired parts are the places where the magnesium is absorbed quite directly into the blood and lymphatic vessels. But also via the other parts of the body, the magnesium chloride that is stored in the skin fat can eventually be absorbed.

However, the remaining magnesium also has the property of attracting moisture, so in wet periods in animals that spend a lot of time outdoors it is better not to treat the areas of the vital organs or to treat them less often.

Please note that this is a salty product and does not go well with metal, as it will rust, so avoid contact (or rinse it off immediately) with metal parts such as collars or leashes.

Therapeutic

In the meantime, this magnesium oil has also been discovered by therapists who, through various massage techniques, all strive for relaxation or the flow of cellular communication in the tissues.

After all, magnesium symbolizes relaxation and cell communication, so it is natural to simultaneously pump this body's own form of magnesium into the blood and lymphatic vessels during massage.

Dosage

This oil contains at least 31% easily absorbable magnesium chloride. But as mentioned, it is actually impossible to determine exactly what the individual need per animal is and over or under dosing is virtually impossible.

Our advice is to use this oil every day or at least regularly to ensure that no magnesium deficiency occurs or that the body's buffer remains at a good level.

To provide some guidance, our experience is that you treat a 10 kg dog daily with 1 to 2 ml of oil, 1 spray is 1 ml.

From the Zechstein source

Naturally, you can assume that Bio-Ron offers the highest quality, the oil comes from the Zechstein source in Groningen.

The Zechstein Sea is a subterranean sea of at least 250 million years old that extends over an area that covers England, Scotland, Groningen, Germany, Ukraine and Russia. The source in Tripscompagnie / Groningen is 'recognized' as the source that delivers the purest product. The extraction is under constant control and at a time when the purest form of magnesium is pumped up here, it is not further processed and marketed as pure oil.

This oil comes directly from the source where the temperature does not exceed 70 degrees. The remaining salt extraction is converted into so-called flakes / crystals. You can also make oil from this, but this does not give the same product as the pure oil. The flakes are produced by an evaporation process in which the magnesium solution from the source is heated to 160 degrees Celsius. Water is evaporated until a concentration of 47% magnesium chloride is reached. This is the correct concentration to obtain magnesium chloride hexahydrate, the stable solid form / crystallization. However, due to this heating, part of the easily absorbable magnesium chloride (MgCl2) will decompose into the less easily absorbable MgOHCl (magnesium hydroxide chloride), MgCO3 (magnesium carbonate) and some HCl (hydrogen chloride). These are responsible for the white haze that you see on the crystals, they are harmless by-products that arise in the process to produce the crystals.

For applications such as bath salts, these flakes/crystals are perfectly suitable, but less suitable for making your own oil, for example, because even more easily absorbable magnesium chloride is lost. For applications directly on the skin, for humans and animals, we recommend using the purest and most natural magnesium oil. Directly from the source without additional processing.
