This Cheezz is based on an age-old recipe from the Himalayas, but made in Belgium in an ISO and HFS certified factory!
The Churpi is a hard chewing snack made according to Nepalese recipe from lactose-free cow's milk. The people in the Himalayas themselves eat the softer variant, but this is dried extra long at low temperature in special drying rooms.
Contains no artificial preservatives, colours or flavours. Rich in calcium and other important minerals.
The churpi is vegetarian.
Why our cheese doesn't come from Nepal?
Most of these types of snacks currently on the market come from India or China, as dairy products may not be imported from Nepal. Also, the claim that yaks' milk is used is often incorrect and if this is exceptionally the case, it is no more than 5% (so 95% cow's milk). In addition, products from India, China or Nepal are often smoked to keep vermin away during open-air drying, which, contrary to what you might think, has a negative effect on the palatability.
