What is vegetable tanned leather:

For all Cooper & Quint leather products, we use Italian vegetable-tanned leather. This type of leather is colored with natural tannins from plants such as leaves, bark, and fruits. The intense green color deepens with time and use. The tanning process takes one to three months and results in a leather with a longer lifespan than chemically tanned leather.
