The main food with an extra energy boost is designed for feeding large parakeets from Asia, Australia or South America. The energy-rich complete food is aimed at large parakeets in outdoor aviaries, very active birds or birds that temporarily need to take in more nutrients when ill or when raising their young. The complete food consists of 42% mealy seeds, 39% oil-bearing seeds, 4% grass seeds, 4% flowers, 3.5% fruits, 3% herbs, 3% minerals and 1.5% vegetables. A basic supply of oyster shell grit has already been taken into account when mixing. The mother-of-pearl, glistening shells are broken into beak-sized pieces so that they can be picked up together with the food. The high proportion of oil-bearing seeds consists mainly of high-quality (un)herb seeds, which provide the bird with essential amino acids, vitamins, minerals and trace elements. For example, fennel seed is a traditional remedy for mild gastrointestinal complaints and also has an antimicrobial effect. The main food for large parakeets with the Energy Plus covers the majority of the daily needs of the birds in outdoor aviaries, because in addition to flowery and oily seeds it contains a colorful mix of grass seeds, blossoms, herbs and vegetables. However, we recommend regularly supplementing the complete food with fresh food and mineral and vitamin supplements in order to provide the animals with the best possible care.

Composition : Flat millet, red millet, sunflower seeds (peeled), safflower, grass seeds, wheat, naked oats, pumpkin seeds (peeled), mung beans, paddy rice, hemp seeds, buckwheat, oyster shell grit, rosehip seeds, marigold blossoms, milo, spinach seed, linseed, canary seed, perilla, fennel seed, niger seed, turnip, oregano, rowan/rowan berries, milk thistle seed, corn (popped), chili peppers, dandelion leaves, red clover blossoms, barberry, rice (puffed), red peppers.

Feeding advice 2-3 teaspoons per day per bird. If necessary, supplement regularly with fresh food and minerals. Take into account the respective requirements of the different species. During the rearing of the young, urgently adjust the feeding requirements of sick birds and birds and discuss this with the avian veterinarian.

Our tip Regularly check the weight of your birds and adjust the daily amount of food accordingly. An annual health check by a veterinarian is also recommended. Also think of fresh water (several times) per day!
