Natural control of lice and other fur parasites. Internal and external use for all animals, including birds

We come across this product under many different names such as diatomaceous earth, diatomaceous earth, silicon (dioxide), silicea, E551 and dissolved in water as silicic acid. Almost all names that point to silicon / silica which, after iron, is the most common element on this earth and the main component of this product, 99.9999...%.

Diatoms are the fossilized glass houses of single-celled algae. Diatoms are so small (5 to 200 microns; 1 micron is 1 thousandth of a millimeter) that they cannot be seen with the naked eye. You need a microscope to see them. On average, 50 to 100 diatoms fit on a pinhead. It is almost unimaginable, especially when you see what fantastic structures they have.

The diatomaceous earth actually consists of 150 million year old single-celled shellfish with a skeleton of almost 100% silicon and 15 other trace elements. In natural medicine it is seen as a supporter of the entire system, so indispensable to make a treatment a success. High concentrations of silicon can be found in the body in the connective tissue.

As a dietary supplement

In addition to supplying the element silicon, it works as an anti-caking agent which keeps the food particles separate. This allows for optimal nutritional absorption. It also prevents eating or licking sand and can bind toxic substances which can then leave the body, comparable to clay but less intense. Furthermore, it also has a stomach-strengthening effect and protects the intestinal wall. Diatomaceous earth also prevents the hatching of fly larvae in the feces.

Recommended daily amount as a dietary supplement

  • Dogs under 20 kg: 2 teaspoons
  • Dogs over 20 kg: 1 tablespoon
  • Dogs over 40 kg: 2 tablespoons
  • Cats: 1 teaspoon
  • Kittens: 1/2 teaspoon

As a treatment, administer daily for 2 to 3 months, 1 to 2 times a year.

External action

The diatomaceous earth binds a lot of moisture due to its structure and therefore has an enormous drying effect on its environment. If you look at it under the microscope, it consists of all particles of skeletons of the shellfish that look like glass splinters. This means that you can also use it as a natural repellent for fleas, ticks and other animals that nest in the fur. The skin of these animals is damaged by the sharp particles and they also suffer from a chronic moisture deficiency. This is also why animals roll in the sand when they try to get rid of these pests. Sand also contains a lot of silicon, but because of the very fine structure of the diatomaceous earth, this works better and you can use it in a targeted manner.

External use

Massage it in specifically. Also treat the environment against these pests, in the animal enclosures, the mats and blankets. For larger surfaces and to prevent inhalation, it can also be dissolved in water and thus, for example, be sprayed in the environment. In this case, dissolve 1 kg in 30 litres of water.

Use with caution

The product itself is absolutely not harmful but try to prevent it from being inhaled directly or coming into the eyes as much as possible. Due to the strong drying effect this can cause irritation of the mucous membranes.

Supplied in a 2kg or 7kg paper packaging ( both without dosing bottle! ).
