PURE Intestine (intestine)

Puur Darm supports healthy bowel function. Puur Darm can be used for diarrhea and loose stools. Handy to have at home as standard if the intestines could use some extra support. Can be given in combination with Puur Psyllium.

Suitable for: Dog, Cat, Horse, Pony

Composition: Diluted extracts of Bilberry (Vaccinium myrtillus), Chamomile (Chamomilla), Fenugreek (Trigonella foenum graecum) and Tormentil (Potentilla erecta). A dilution of Charcoal (Carbo vegetabilis). Alcohol 20% v/v.

Indication(s): For healthy bowel function. For loose stools due to, for example, poor nutrition.

Properties per ingredient:
Bilberry (Vaccinium myrtillus) is a strong antioxidant.
Chamomile (Chamomilla) for a good balance in the intestines, in case of flatulence.
Fenugreek (Trigonella foenum graecum) has a stimulating effect and is often used as a tonic for the intestines. Tormentil (Potentilla erecta) is an appetite-stimulating and tonic.
Charcoal (Carbo vegetabilis) is used for gas accumulation in the gastrointestinal tract and for loose stools.

Dosage and application:
Unless the doctor or therapist prescribes otherwise.
The optimal dosage is 1 - 2 x daily:
Horse 20 - 30 drops
Dog 10 - 15 drops
Cat 5 - 10 drops
20 drops is approximately 1 ml.

If it is difficult in practice to administer this product multiple times a day, 1 time per day or 1 time every 2 days is sufficient. Then give the maximum dosage of one day. Even then this product can be used effectively but the reaction may take a little longer.

Administration: Give this product with a plastic syringe directly into the mouth or beak, possibly diluted with a little water. Preferably not at the same time as a meal because the product works better if it is absorbed by the clean oral mucosa. If an animal does not like the product, the drops can be given on a small piece of treat. If the cat does not accept the drops, put the drops on a warm spoon and let the alcohol evaporate from the product. Then give it diluted with some water or milk with a syringe directly into the mouth. The drops can also be applied to the top of the paw, but check whether the cat licks the drops from the paw.

Advice for use : Always provide good quality food. A course of treatment lasts seven days, if the loose stools disappear sooner, still complete the seven-day course of treatment. If there is no improvement during treatment or the symptoms keep recurring, you should consult your veterinarian.

Duration of treatment: In an acute situation, the duration of treatment is relatively short. This can vary from a few days to 3 weeks. If there is improvement, continue administering this product for a few more days. In case of long-term discomfort, the effect is usually visible after 1 to 3 weeks. If there is improvement, a maintenance dose can be used. This is usually half of the dosage indicated on the packaging. When dosing this product, carefully observe the animal's reaction. A higher dosage may be necessary at the beginning; this product can be safely administered in double dosage. Gradually reduce the dosage to the lowest possible dosage. This product can be administered permanently. It is advisable to insert a stop week after every 6 to 8 weeks. This way, the 'stimulus' can be offered again after the stop week. Resume treatment immediately if there is reason to do so.

Synergy and combinations with other products: This product can be used without any problems in combination with natural health products and regular medicines.

Contraindications: During pregnancy and lactation always use in consultation with the attending veterinarian.

Side effects: To date, side effects of this product have not been reported or known. With some dilutions and extracts, a short-term worsening may occur at the start of treatment. This means that the animal is reacting to the product. In the event of a serious increase, halve the dosage or stop temporarily and then slowly build up again.
